Honor today introduced its new flagship Honor Magic5 Ultimate. And here comes the catch. The Chinese see the Ultimate as a “special edition” that is unfortunately only intended for the local market. In addition, it’s actually a Magic5 Pro with 16/512 GB under the chic leather back. The Honor Magic5 Lite had already celebrated its premiere.
The Honor Magic5 Ultimate is offered in Elegant Black and Burning Orange, both with vegan leather trim. In addition, a high-quality Montblanc Custom leather case is part of the scope of delivery. The Ultimate also has USB-C headphones in the package, unlike the other members of the series.
Goodies aside, the Honor Magic5 Ultimate is the same full-fledged flagship as the Pro. Accordingly, it is also based on a 6.81-inch LTPO-OLED display with 1,312 x 2,848 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in combination with 16 GB RAM and a 5,450 mAh battery, which charges with 66 watts.
On the front there is a 12 megapixel selfie camera with a large field of view and a depth sensor. The main camera setup is spearheaded by a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.12-inch sensor, 23mm focal length and an f/1.6 aperture. The 13 mm ultra wide camera with autofocus and macro functions and the 90 mm 3.5x periscope zoom also have a resolution of 50 megapixels.
The Honor Magic5 Ultimate is available for pre-order now in China for CNY 6,699 (€908/$967). The official sale is expected to start on March 20th.
