Honor 80 GT: design and chipset revealed

Honor has already confirmed that the new Honor 80 GT will be presented on December 26th and that a tablet will also be on stage. Today the company announced that the name of the tablet is Honor V8 Pro, just like the previous rumors suggested. Also, Honor has shown full-size teasers for both devices on its Weibo company page.

In addition, Honor’s gaming department in China made a statement. Accordingly, the 80 GT is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and has a dedicated display chip. The latter should ensure extremely fast refresh rates and still moderate energy consumption. The Honor 80 GT becomes just the second model from the company to run on the Qualcomm chipset, following the Magic Vs Foldable that was unveiled last month.

The images show a flat OLED display with a tiny punch hole for a single selfie camera. Rumor has it that Honor is preparing to launch the 80 GT at an extremely competitive price. Therefore, the Honor smartphone could win some friends among cell phone gamers. Not much is known about the Honor V8 Pro tablet. You can see three pins on the back. That means the tablet will likely support a cover keyboard and the already confirmed stylus. The latter can also be seen in the picture.

There are still six days until the official launch, so more teasers should appear in the coming days. So far, there’s only a vague timeframe for the Magic V’s worldwide launch. One can only hope that the Honor 80 GT will make it out of China as well.
