Honor 200 and 200 Pro debut in China

Honor will also hold a separate global launch event for the Honor 200 and 200 Pro on June 12 in Paris.
Honor 200 series

Honor launched the Honor 200 and 200 Pro in China today. Both smartphones have the same look and share various hardware. These include 6.7-inch OLED displays with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, 50 megapixel main and portrait cameras and 5,200 mAh batteries with 100 watt cable charging.

However, the Honor 200 Pro has a more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and 66 watts of fast wireless charging. The base model instead uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip and does not have wireless charging. The Pro also features a dedicated Honor C1+ chip for improved wireless and mobile connectivity.

The main camera on the back of the Honor 200 Pro uses a custom H9000 sensor. This is a 50 megapixel 1/1.3 inch chip based on the Omnivision OV50H. Essentially it’s the same sensor as the flagship Honor Magic6 Pro with 1.2µm pixels, an f/1.9 aperture and OIS. The base model instead uses a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX906 main sensor with an f/1.95 aperture and OIS.

Both Honor smartphones also have a 50 megapixel IMX856 telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom, an f/2.4 aperture and OIS on board. Honor has developed a new Harcourt portrait mode with legendary French photography studio Harcourt. This uses AI to simulate professional studio lighting and creates Harcourt portraits with appropriate exposure, light and shadow for studio-quality portraiture.

The third camera on the back is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with autofocus and a dedicated 2.5cm macro mode. Both Honor 200 models also have 50 megapixel front cameras. The software side is covered by MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14.

Honor 200 prices

The Honor 200 starts at CNY 2,699 (€343 / $372) for the 12/256 GB version and goes up to CNY 3,199 (€406 / $442) for the 16/512 GB variant. The Honor 200 Pro costs a minimum of 3,499 CNY (445 euros / 483 US dollars) in the base configuration with 12/256 GB and a maximum of 4,499 CNY (572 euros / 621 US dollars) with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Both cell phones will go on sale in China from May 31st. The global launch will take place at an event on June 12th in Paris, where we will find out pricing and availability for international markets.
