Late last month, Apple announced the launch of the iPhone 15 series on September 12th. Shortly afterwards, Google responded that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be officially released on October 4th. A little over a week has passed since then and apparently it was high time for the first two official teaser videos. The first covers the launch event as a whole and shows very brief glimpses of products like the Pixel Watch 2 and the Pixel 8 Pro.
About an hour later, the next teaser video came, which is almost a product presentation. It shows both new Google smartphones from pretty much every angle in 23 seconds.
This confirms once again that leaks and rumors are regularly true. The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro retain the same design language as their predecessors, with a few small changes here and there. According to rumors, for example, the Pro will have an infrared thermometer for measuring skin temperature. The corresponding sensor is located on the back under the LED flash.
The Google Pixel Watch 2 in the video looks pretty much like the original Pixel Watch. So we can only hope that the improvements in the new Google smartwatch will be under the hood. The rumors so far point to a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, which should bring significantly better battery life.
