In addition to the Google Pixel Watch 3 in two different sizes, Google is also working hard on the new Pixel Buds Pro 2.

The first rumors emerged in January that the Google Pixel Watch 3 could come onto the market in two sizes. Today a new leak adds more fuel to the fire. In addition to the 45 mm Pixel Watch 3, new Pixel Buds Pro 2 are also on the way.

Google Pixel Watch 3 in 45mm

With two sizes for the Google Pixel Watch 3, the search engine giant would finally respond to the biggest criticism of the Pixel Watches to date. For some users, the current 41 mm model is simply too small. According to the source, the larger of the two Pixel Watch 3 models will be 45 mm, which should be more than enough even for tall users.

This larger size would fit the Apple Watch Series 9. Samsung offers the Galaxy Watch6 in 40 and 44mm sizes, while the Galaxy Watch6 Classic is available in 43mm and 47mm sizes.

The smaller model of the Google Pixel Watch 3 is likely to remain at the current size of 41 mm. The user interface is unlikely to change much between the two watches. However, some watch faces like “Adventure” and apps like Gmail should benefit from the additional display space.

The version of the software, Wear OS 5, will be released based on Android 14. Google only changed the Wear OS hybrid interface this week. This now uses the microcontroller unit (or MCU) instead of the application processor (AP), which dramatically increases battery life. From the beginning, the Pixel Watch had a co-processor that also measures the heart rate per second.

New Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

There are now also the first rumors that Google is working on new Pixel Buds Pro 2 headphones. They have been in development for some time. The predecessor, the first Google Pixel Buds Pro, were introduced in May 2022 and came onto the market in July.

Last fall, Google rolled out a pretty extensive feature drop for the Pixel Buds Pro with call detection, hearing wellness, Bluetooth Super Wideband, reduced gaming latency (with the Pixel 8), and clear calling. There was also a Pixel Buds web app, Assistant Quick Phrases and two new colors (Bay and Porcelain).

On the other hand, a revised active noise cancellation on the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 would be desirable. It will also be interesting to see what intelligent/AI-supported functions Google can implement with more powerful hardware.
