Google Pixel 9, 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL: New renders are here

It looks like Google is launching three new phones - the Google Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

The Google Pixel 9 series has appeared in several new CAD renders. We say series deliberately because it seems that Google is taking a new approach to its Pixel phones. Back in January, two sets of images appeared on the Internet, which were now said to be the Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. The new images show the same basic design. This includes a flat metal frame and revised camera modules in an oval shape. The latter no longer merge into the frame like on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series.

The source claims that the Google Pixel 9 will offer a 6.03-inch display (presumably 120Hz OLED) compared to the 6.1-inch Pixel 9 Pro and 6.5-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL. The stated dimensions of the base model are 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm. The other key difference is the dual camera setup compared to the three lenses on the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL.

It looks like Google is taking a new approach with the Pixel 9 series and is launching three models at once. It remains to be seen what Google will come up with when it comes to pricing for its upcoming devices.

There is also the question of whether the regular Pixel 9 will mean the end for the Pixel A phones. We should have a clear picture in the coming months, judging by previous leaks about the Pixel series. The official launch is expected to take place sometime in October, when Google usually unveils its flagships.
