The Google Pixel 8a has appeared in two different new leaks. First of all, there is another price-related rumor, and this one brings better news than the previous two. Despite previous claims, today’s report tells us that the Pixel 8a’s price at launch will be the same as the Pixel 7a. At least in the US market.

So if that’s true, then you can expect the Google Pixel 8a to cost $499 (466 euros) with 128GB of storage and $599 (559 euros) with 256GB. Even if this works, keep in mind that price increases may still occur in other markets. In fact, the two previous price-related rumors concerned different markets (Europe and Canada).

At the same time, we have some new leaked renders of the device, showing the Google Pixel 8a in original Google cases. And there’s a twist. While the phone itself was widely expected to come in four color variants, for some reason the cases will add a fifth – a coral-like hue.

As you can see, the Google Pixel 8a is also seen in Obsidian (black) in these official-looking images. So it doesn’t look like Google is actually adding a fifth color to the phone, just offering a fifth case option. This may indicate that a Coral Pixel 8a will be coming onto the market soon.

The Pixel 8a is expected to be officially announced at Google’s I/O developer conference on May 14th. It is powered by the Tensor G3 chipset and powered by a 4,500 mAh battery. There’s a 6.1-inch 90Hz OLED display and a 64-megapixel main camera on the back along with a 13-megapixel ultrawide. The cameras should also have AI features. Of course, Android 14 is on board from day one.
