Google Pixel 8a: New images with large bezels

The corners of the Google Pixel 8a are more rounded compared to its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, as two leaked images show.
Google Pixel 8a

The Google Pixel 8a now appears regularly in the rumor mill. We last learned about several technical data a few days ago, after the first specifications appeared on the Internet last month. A few new images of the next Pixel smartphone leaked today. You can see both the back and the front of the version in obsidian, as Google likes to call black.

The images show what you would expect from the Google Pixel 8a. You can see two camera lenses, a circular LED flash and simple G branding. But things get interesting on the front side. The bezels of the display are several millimeters wide and are therefore hard to miss, especially at the bottom. Then again, Google will probably get away with it since most Pixel fans will praise the software and camera quality, as usual.

Compared to its predecessor, the Google Pixel 7a, the edges actually don’t look that bad. The point is that there are various competing models of the Google Pixel 8a in Europe and Asia with significantly smaller bezels. In addition, the corners have clearly become rounder compared to the 7a.

In addition to the Obsidian color shown here, the Pixel 8a is also expected to be available in Porcelain (white) and Bay (blue). It is said to be based on Google’s Tensor G3 chipset and have a 6.1-inch OLED display with 120 Hz. There is also 128/256 GB of storage as well as a 64 megapixel main camera with OIS and 13 megapixel ultrawide and selfie cameras on board. The 4,500 mAh battery supports wired charging with a maximum of 27 watts.
