Google Pixel 8a: More technical data surfaced

A new leak reveals further technical data for the Google Pixel 8a. Unfortunately, it's not all good news.
Google Pixel 7a

The Google Pixel 8a is a frequent visitor to the rumor mill these days, as it was today with some new technical data. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the drive is powered by Google’s own Tensor G3 chipset, which also makes its rounds in the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. There is also either 128 or 256 GB of storage.

As far as the camera is concerned, the Google Pixel 8a should rely on the tried and tested with the same 64 megapixel OIS main camera and the 13 megapixel ultrawide as the Pixel 7a. The 13 megapixel selfie camera is nothing new either. When it comes to the battery, however, the first deviations from last year appear on the data sheet.

Accordingly, the Google Pixel 8a will have “approximately” a 4,500 mAh battery. That’s a slight improvement over the 7a’s 4,385mAh battery. Brar also confirms an earlier report that the 8a will charge via cable at 27 watts. There is no evidence of wireless charging. The 7a managed 7.5 watts, which the 8a will probably do too. Finally, the Pixel 8a will launch in May and will be priced at around $500 to $550 (€461 – €507).
