Motorola published the first teasers for the Motorola X50 Ultra on the Chinese social network Weibo at the beginning of the year. The brand has now released another teaser revealing that the smartphone may have more generative AI features compared to the recently launched Edge 50 Ultra.

The teaser shared by Motorola confirmed more AI features for the X50 Ultra and also revealed its design. The smartphone looks identical to the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra and should have the same specifications. The only difference would be the AI features. The Edge 50 Ultra has features like in-camera AI scene optimization and an AI background generator, but Motorola didn’t market it as an AI phone.

On the contrary: the Motorola X50 Ultra is touted as the brand’s first AI phone. However, the company has not revealed any details about the AI features. However, Motorola has already confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in May 2024. Therefore, we won’t have to wait much longer for the missing details.

As mentioned, the Motorola X50 Ultra is likely to be similar to the Edge 50 Ultra in terms of specs. These include a 144 Hz display and a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The charging processes should be extremely fast with an output of up to 125 watts. We’ll have to wait and see whether the AI functions will also come to the Edge 50 Ultra via a software update.
