The Galaxy S22 series got Samsung’s latest One UI 5.1 interface right after the new Galaxy S23 models. As it turned out, the update was knitted with a hot needle. As several users report, the Galaxy S22, S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra show increased battery consumption after the update. Some of the reports suggest that the Samsung keyboard app could be to blame.

In some forums on the internet, users are suggesting to clear the app’s cache and data and then restart the Samsung smartphone. Also, you should check if the One UI 5.1 update automatically put the Galaxy S22 in the maximum performance mode. If you had previously activated the power-saving mode, the battery will also be discharged. A third party keyboard app is also worth trying if other workarounds don’t solve the problem.

According to several Reddit members, Samsung is already aware of the problem and should deliver a fix soon. Until then, if the Galaxy S22 battery life is noticeably short, you can always go to the battery in settings menu and check for irregularities there.
