First details about the Redmi K80 Pro / Xiaomi Poco F7 leaked

Redmi is more known for cheap cell phones, but produces flagships in China on a continuous basis - like the upcoming Redmi K80 Pro / Poco F7.

While we may associate Redmi with lower-end devices, the budget Xiaomi brand also launches new flagship killer smartphones in China year after year with the K series. However, you never see these devices internationally as Xiaomi usually rebrands them as members of the Poco F series. Like the upcoming Redmi K80 Pro, which will later hit the global market as the Xiaomi Poco F7.

The Redmi K80 Pro / Xiaomi Poco F7 will be the successor to the K70 Pro / Poco F6, which was launched in China last November. It is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which Qualcomm will unveil in October. In addition, according to the tip, there will be a display with a “2K” resolution and a 5,500 mAh battery with support for fast wired charging at 120 watts.

Rumor has it that the Redmi K80 Pro / Xiaomi Poco F7 will also have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It also has a 3x telephoto camera, up from 2x on the K70 Pro. A report from March claimed that the Xiaomi 15 series and the OnePlus 13 would also switch to ultrasonic fingerprint scanners. These work faster and more reliably than their optical counterparts, but of course they also drive up prices.

According to the tipster who posted this information on Chinese microblogging network Weibo, the Redmi K80 Pro will be “like a flagship”, which is also supported by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. But that could also affect pricing. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if it comes with a price increase compared to the launch price of its predecessor.
