Beats Studio Buds + with ANC and 36h runtime unveiled

As expected, Apple today unveiled its latest Beats Studio Buds + with improved Active Noise Canceling (ANC), longer battery life and a new transparent version. The new Beats earphones feature a custom ‘Beats Proprietary Platform’ chip. The chip supports one-touch pairing with Apple devices, Hey Siri and Apple Find My support, and device switching via iCloud.

What’s new about the headphones is that the Beats Studio Buds + are also compatible with Google Fast Pair, Google Find My Device tracking, as well as audio switching between a wider range of devices and operating systems. According to Apple, both the ANC and voice recording on calls work significantly better thanks to the three times larger microphones. There is also support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos and protection against splashing water according to the IPX4 standard.

The Beats Studio Buds+ offer up to 9 hours of playback time, which is a pretty good value for earbuds. Including the USB-C charging case, Apple states a total battery life of up to 36 hours. If the battery and case are empty, five minutes on the charger provide one hour of music playback. The Studio Buds + are available in Transparent, Black, and Ivory, priced at $170/£180/€200. The headphones can already be ordered from Apple and partner retailers.
