The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra made its official debut today, marking a major change in direction for the series. The smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has the latest AI features on board, but above all, it is significantly larger than its predecessors. The Zenfone 11 Ultra has the same dimensions as the ROG Phone 8 Pro, but the design has been changed to appeal to a wider range of customers.

The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display delivers a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The peak brightness is 2,500 nits and the panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. On the back, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra has a triple camera – a first for the Zenfone series since 2021. The main camera is based on a 50 megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor with Asus’ 6-axis hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0. There’s also a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Today’s presentation focused primarily on the AI functions. In addition to bokeh effects in portrait video mode, they also help track subjects’ faces. Additionally, there are transcript features, call translation, noise cancellation, and AI wallpapers.

The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra has a 5,500 mAh battery that supports 65 watt wired charging and 15 watt wireless charging. However, Asus does not provide a charger, just a USB-C cable. The bottom is extremely full with a 3.5mm audio jack, a speaker grill, a SIM tray, a USB-C port and a microphone. As for connectivity, the Ultra covers Bluetooth 5.4 and is Wi-Fi 7 ready.

Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra prices

The Asus phone is available in four colors – Skyline Blue, Eternal Black, Misty Gray and Desert Sand. The entry-level model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs €999. However, there is a discount of €100 during the pre-order phase, which is currently one of the cheaper options for getting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone.
