According to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Apple watchOS 10 update will be one of the big topics at the 2023 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, which kicks off on June 5. The company will reportedly announce a major design and feature overhaul with watchOS 10.

There are a couple of solid arguments why Apple might be planning a major update for watchOS 10. First of all, the hardware upgrade for this year’s Apple Watch is said to be rather small. So Apple is looking for a way to persuade new buyers or existing users to upgrade.
Second, the new iOS 17 update will only bring a handful of new features and tweaks. And thirdly, relatively little has happened to watchOS in recent years. So it’s time for a significant upgrade in Apple watchOS 10. Nevertheless, Gurman’s report is based only on speculation and market analysis, so it’s just rumors for now. There will be certainty at the latest at the WWDC on June 5th.
