Apple Watch Ultra 2: new variant in black titanium

According to the usually reliable tipster ShrimpApplePro, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will launch in a new variant with a black titanium case. The existing, unpainted titanium version is also sold on.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently said that Apple was testing a darker titanium finish for the current Apple Watch Ultra. At least for the existing Apple Smartwatch, the new design is currently not an issue. The new model could adopt the black titanium design later this year, though, when the Apple Watch Ultra 2 launches in September. Previously, only the high-end edition of the Apple Watch Series 7 was available with a space black titanium case.

In addition, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 should get a faster S9 chipset, which according to Gurman is based on the A15 Bionic processor. The A15 was first used in the Apple iPhone 13 series. The second-generation Apple Watch Ultra should launch alongside the Apple Watch Series 9, which should also be available in pink.

The Apple Watch Ultra started in September 2022 as a larger and more robust version of the Apple Watch Series 8. It was designed for hiking, extreme water sports, diving and other outdoor activities. The price is 799 US dollars in the US and 999 euros in Europe. In our Apple Watch Ultra price comparison, it is already available at a much lower price.
