In his latest Power On newsletter, Blomberg journalist Mark Gurman predicts that the Apple Vision Pro headset is expected to launch “sometime in March.” This is the most concrete time frame yet and the most serious tip for the $3,499 headset.
However, Gurman also said that Apple actually wants to bring the Vision Pro onto the market in January 2024. However, the Californians are still behind on their sales plans and carrying out final tests.
According to reports, you will initially only be able to buy the Apple Vision Pro by appointment in Apple Stores and via the official website. Third-party dealers, i.e. all other online shops, are left empty-handed. That’s because Apple wants to carefully accompany the introduction of the headset. One reason for this is that there will be various versions with different lenses with and without prescription. The headbands will also be available in different sizes, which makes storage in stationary stores more difficult.
Preparations for the start are already in full swing. This also means that the latest visionOS beta offers onboarding materials, including videos, for an easy introduction to mixed reality. The iOS 17.2 Beta 2 brings features like AirPlay Receiver and spatial video support to the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
