Well-known tech analyst Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities has once again commented on the current rumors about the iPhone 16 series next year. In the report, he details some of the key improvements of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. Accordingly, next year’s Pro iPhones will have Wi-Fi 7, while the iPhone 15 Pro started with the Wi-Fi 6e standard.

The Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max also get a Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 modem. Compared to the X70 chip in the iPhone 15 series, this should enable faster 5G download speeds and better battery life.

In addition, according to Pu, both Apple iPhone 16 Pro models will get updated 48-megapixel ultra-wide cameras. The iPhone 16 Pro should also adopt the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 12-megapixel tetraprism lens with its 5x optical zoom. The new zoom sensor fits into the housing due to the larger dimensions of the upcoming iPhone Pros. The 16 Pro is expected to grow to a 6.3-inch display. The 16 Pro Max gets an upgrade to 6.9 inches.

The regular Apple iPhone 16 will get a less powerful version of the A17 Pro chip from the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, according to Jeff Pu. However, the RAM remains at 8 GB and the dual camera setup is also adopted from the iPhone 15. The Wi-Fi module gets a small upgrade to the 6e standard.
