We’re still months away from the September launch of Apple’s iPhone 15 series. Nevertheless, the leaks about the iPhone 16 series are slowly picking up speed. The iPhone 15 Pro is rumored to be a major upgrade with a new design with rounded edges. A titanium frame, camera upgrades and of course a USB-C port are also among the recurring rumours. However, Apple is also already planning some innovations for the next year. This includes new display sizes for the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Apple iPhone 16 Ultra
While it looks like the iPhone 15 Pro Max will ditch the Ultra branding, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro series could go a different route. This would align with what Apple did with the Apple Watch Ultra last year. Accordingly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will possibly be launched as the iPhone 16 Ultra. In addition to the larger 6.9-inch display, the entire housing should also grow significantly. The upcoming top-of-the-line Apple smartphone will be taller, but fortunately only slightly wider, as the iPhone 14 Pro Max is already difficult to hold with one hand.

The picture shows how Apple wants to increase the display size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The form factor seems to remain almost unchanged.

Dimensions
- iPhone 16 Ultra
- Width: 77.2mm
- Height: 165.0mm
- Display size: 6.9 inches
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- Width: 76.7mm
- Height: 159.8mm
- Display size: 6.7 inches
Apple iPhone 16 Pro
Both tipster Ming-Chi Kuo and Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants assume that the iPhone 16 Pro will also be larger. Young guesses around 6.3 inches. The additional space should also help to accommodate a periscope zoom lens in the smaller iPhone 16 Pro. This year, the feature will unfortunately be missing on the smaller iPhone 15 Pro.
Several reputable sources have now confirmed that the iPhone 16 Pro series will have larger displays. However, the launch is still well over a year away and plans are subject to change.
