YouTuber Unbox Therapy got his hands on an Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, not a real model, but a one-to-one replica made based on Apple schematics. By far the most obvious difference to the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the extremely thin bezels around the display. Accordingly, the bezels are “almost half” the size of the predecessor and possibly offer the best screen-to-body ratio of any smartphone to date.

Both Apple iPhone 15 Pro models should offer thinner, curved bezels compared to the iPhone 14 Pro, similar to Apple Watches. The larger 6.7-inch model is rumored to have the narrowest bezels of any iPhone 15 model. A few weeks ago tipster Ice Universe had already spread a similar rumor. According to the tip at the time, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will break the record of 1.81mm wide bezels set by the Xiaomi 13, with Apple’s upcoming model measuring just 1.55mm at its thinnest point. For comparison, the bezel dimensions of the iPhone 14 Pro are 2.17mm. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is 1.95mm wide at the bezel.

The video of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max shows the button configuration of the new Pro models as originally circulated in the rumor mill. This includes a single volume rocker and the configurable action button instead of the mute switch. According to current rumors, the mute switch is still retired. But instead of the solid-state buttons and the new Taptic Engine Apple will use normal buttons.
Apparently there were problems with the production and Apple delayed solid-state keys until next year’s models. Apple’s new iPhone 15 series will launch in September, as usual. We have collected all previous reports and rumors in our article Apple iPhone 15 series – what is known so far.
