According to a new rumor from China, this year’s Apple iPhone 15 series will feature significant improvements in battery capacity. The rumor allegedly came from an insider at a Foxconn factory. And the second piece of good news – all four iPhones should benefit from the upgrades. According to the tip, the regular iPhone 15 will have a 3,877 mAh battery. The iPhone 15 Plus gets 4,912 mAh, the iPhone 15 Pro has a 3,650 mAh cell, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets the largest capacity at 4,852 mAh.

For comparison, the Apple iPhone 14 has a 3,279 mAh battery and the iPhone 14 Plus has a 4,323 mAh battery. The iPhone 14 Pro has a battery capacity of 3,200mAh and the iPhone 14 Pro Max sits at 4,323mAh just like the Plus.
So the increases are quite clear across the board. And the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 models will be even better in terms of battery life. In particular, the Apple iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro Max are already among the best smartphones in this discipline. If the devices actually come close to the 5,000 mAh limit for the first time, a few records should be broken. At least in combination with the optimized chipsets developed in-house by Apple.
Apple iPhone 15 to get more storage and new UWB chip
According to a previous rumor, this year’s Apple iPhone 15 series will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 14 series. That would also fit with today’s rumor regarding the larger batteries. That being said, a second rumor just made the rounds on Weibo, China’s Twitter equivalent. Accordingly, the iPhone 15 Pro gets 256 GB of base storage, twice as much as the current 128 GB. With that, there would be another difference between the Standard and Pro models, as the former are said to remain at 128GB. There are also recent reports of a new UWB chip for communication with the Vision Pro headset and scratch-resistant backs.
