Apple iPad Pro 2024: new design, OLED displays and M3 chip

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman opened up about Apple’s plans for iPads in 2024 in his latest Power On newsletter. Accordingly, the Apple iPad Pro 2024 will be the biggest update since the 2018 model to boost the flagging tablet market. Both new Apple iPad Pros will be launched in spring or early summer of 2024.

As usual, there will be two models – an 11-inch iPad Pro and a new 13-inch model, which is slightly larger than the current iPad Pro 12.9. Both tablets are said to feature OLED displays, confirming previous rumours. The current Apple iPad Pro 11 has an IPS LCD display, while the 12.9-inch model uses a mini LED panel.

Both Apple tablets are powered by M3 chipsets. Apple’s next generation of self developed desktop chipsets is expected to be unveiled in a Mac update later this year. According to rumours, the first tests with the model names J717, J718, J720 and J721 are already underway. Apple will also release a new Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad, further bridging the gap to the MacBook.

In addition, there are still rumors about a new iPad mini, which could also be launched next year. As well as a whole new tablet category – a foldable Apple iPad Fold. The latter would definitely have the potential to revise Apple’s quarterly results significantly upwards.
