It’s that time of year again when Apple announces a new color for its iPhone. The year before last was purple, last year there were green iPhones and this year the Californians are bringing yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.
The new iPhone 14 features an intense bright yellow for the back glass, somewhere between the bright yellow of the iPhone 11 and the deep yellow of the iPhone XR. The aluminum frame is the same bright yellow-gold color as the iPhone 11 variant, as opposed to the iPhone XR’s bright gold.
Unlike last year, the new color will not be offered for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro models. Instead, it complements the existing five colors of the standard models, which currently include Midnight, Starlight, (PRODUCT)RED, Blue, and Purple. Apart from the new color, there are no technical differences between the Apple phones.
Apple also announced four new colors for its range of silicone cases for all four iPhone 14 models. These include canary yellow, olive, sky and iris. They cost 49 US dollars (59 euros) each. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in Yellow will be available for pre-order starting March 10 at 5:00 p.m. PST. The new protective covers are available from today.
