Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has commented on Apple’s current plans for smart speakers. According to its latest report, the new Apple HomePod 3 will launch in the first half of 2024. According to the report, the device will have a 7-inch display and herald a new phase in Apple’s smart home strategy.

The larger display of the new Apple HomePod 3 should also be accompanied by new functions of the smart home device. Deeper integration into the Apple ecosystem is also planned. Tianma Microelectronics is planned as the exclusive supplier for the displays of the next-generation HomePods. Kuo also mentions that Tianma could also supply displays for the Apple iPads in the future.
Rumors from last year also spoke of Apple’s plans to launch a HomePod 3 with tvOS. According to the reports, the device would also bring FaceTime capabilities via a built-in camera, in addition to functioning as a smart home speaker.
