2022 was a great year for Apple and its iPhones, according to the latest Counterpoint Research report. This shows the ten best-selling smartphones of the last year and eight of the top 10 devices came from Apple. First of the list is the Apple iPhone 13 with an estimated 5% of all smartphone sales worldwide and 28% of all iPhone sales. It was also the best-selling phone in the US, UK, China, Germany and France between September 2021 and August 2022.
The Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max took second place with a 2.8% share of all global smartphone sales. The iPhone 14 Pro Max successor ranked close behind with 1.7% of all sales. The iPhone 14 Pro Max was also the first Pro Max model to surpass the Pro and Basic versions in terms of sales.
Samsung’s Galaxy A13 secures fourth place in 2022, followed by the iPhone 13 Pro. Also, the October 2020 iPhone 12 actually managed sixth place, followed by the iPhone 14 with an estimated 1.5% of all sales. Despite its age, the 12 model sold very well, especially in the US, China and Japan. The iPhone SE (2022) came in ninth, while Samsung’s Galaxy A03 finished as the last cell phone of the top 10 list.
