Amazfit has introduced the new Cheetah series. The first two models, the Amazfit Cheetah and the Cheetah Pro, are primarily aimed at runners.

Amazfit Cheetah Pro

The Amazfit Cheetah Pro is advertised as a “premium watch for elite runners who want to optimize their performance”. It has a 1.45-inch always-on AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, making the display easy to read even in bright sunlight. Over 100 watch faces are available for customization. The bezel of the Amazfit Cheetah Pro is made of titanium alloy and the middle frame is made of fiber-reinforced polymer to keep the watch as light as possible. There is also a sweat-wicking nylon strap with a width of 22mm and an adjustable length of 150-220mm.

The Amazfit Cheetah Pro features a button and crown on the right side for easy control during a run. Also on board is the AI-powered Zepp Coach, which provides personalized running plans tailored to the user’s goals and adapting to their performance and condition week after week. You also get scientific guides to help understand your progress.

In some countries, the Zepp Coach also comes with an AI chatbot for a short demo before becoming a subscription service. It uses generative AI and a Large Language Model (LLM) to understand the user’s natural language via voice or input commands and provide easy-to-understand answers to their sports-related questions. According to Amazfit, it’s “just like being in a one-on-one coaching session with a real human personal trainer.”

Other features for runners include Virtual Pacer, race performance prediction and Track Run Mode. Virtual Pacer lets you set an AI pace target. Once the function has enough data, you get a prediction of how you might perform on race day. Track Run mode, on the other hand, provides time, distance, and pace data for each lap. If necessary, the algorithm of the Amazfit Cheetah Pro can correct the route and distance to ensure that the performance data in the Zepp app match the selected pace.

Amazfit’s new GPS technology MaxTrack for runners is also on board. It uses a dual-band GPS antenna (L1 and L5) to receive nearly 100% of satellite signals and reduce interference from tall buildings and trees. The Cheetah Pro also supports six satellite positioning systems for reliable coverage. You can also import a route file from the Zepp app and use it in an offline map.

Other highlights of the Amazfit Cheetah Pro include offline music playback, Amazon Alexa, an offline voice assistant and Bluetooth phone call support. The smartwatch has a microphone and speaker, runs Zepp OS 2.0 with support for over 100 apps and supports WiFi 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.3. The battery has a capacity of 440 mAh and should be fully charged in two hours. The typical running time is up to 14 days and drops to up to 7 days under heavy use. The Cheetah Pro is water resistant to 50 meters and weighs 43g with the strap (34g without).

Amazfit Cheetah

The regular Amazfit Cheetah comes in two versions – round and square. So far, however, there are only details about the Amazfit Cheetah (Round). It is a “practical watch for aspiring athletes who want to train more efficiently”. It shares most of the specs and functions with the Pro model, but features a smaller 1.39-inch display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The bezel is made of fiber-reinforced polymer instead of titanium and the strap is made of silicone. The smartwatch weighs 47 g (32 g without the bracelet). However, the Amazfit Cheetah (Round) has neither a microphone nor a speaker, nor does it support Bluetooth phone calls. There is also no WiFi on board.

The new Amazfit smartwatches also come with the usual health and fitness features. These include sleep tracking, stress monitoring, blood oxygen level monitoring, and heart rate tracking. For an even more accurate heart rate measurement, the smartwatches can be connected to heart rate belts via Bluetooth. They also support over 150 indoor and outdoor sports modes and can automatically recognize 25 strength exercises.

The Amazfit Cheetah (round) is available in Speedster Gray and the Cheetah Pro in Run Track Black. The Cheetah (Round) costs $230 (€210/INR 18,840), while the Cheetah Pro costs $300 (€273/INR 24,580) in the US. If you buy from the official Amazfit website, you get a free pair of Amazfit PowerBuds.
