Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra display and prices leaked

The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature new hardware on the front, though this isn’t immediately obvious. Well-known tipster Ice Universe shared images of screen protectors for the S27 Ultra today, suggesting they are nearly identical to those of the S26 Ultra, and possibly even interchangeable. There’s also a new leak regarding potential price increases.

Ice wrote: “This is likely to be the smallest change in the design of the front display between two consecutive ultra-flagship phones in Samsung’s history.”

According to previous reports, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, like the new S27 Pro, will be equipped with a next-generation OLED display, the M16. This technology premiered in the iQOO 16, whose display achieves a maximum local brightness of 10,000 nits and a maximum global brightness of 2,800 nits. The M16 also boasts higher energy efficiency (up to 30% less power consumption) and improved color accuracy.
Back in July, it was reported that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro would receive a new selfie camera – a 16-megapixel module to replace the 12-megapixel selfie camera currently used by Samsung. This was confirmed again last month.
The display size and shape, however, are expected to remain the same. This means another year with a 6.9-inch display with 1440 x 3120 pixels, just like the S26 Ultra and S25 Ultra (the S24 Ultra’s display was slightly smaller at 6.8 inches). Naturally, it will also feature Privacy Display. The display bezels are expected to remain unchanged.
This is perhaps not too surprising, as the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra will have almost the same dimensions as the S26 Ultra. The battery will be larger, thanks to improved energy density. However, the smartphone will be slightly heavier, weighing 215g instead of 214g. Samsung seems to have focused primarily on the new rear camera unit, leaving the rest of the design largely unchanged.
Samsung Galaxy S27 prices
According to a second new rumor from Samsung’s home country of South Korea, the devices of the Galaxy S27 series will be at least 130,000 KRW (86 euros/95 US dollars) more expensive there than their predecessors – however, this price increase only applies to the base model.

The higher-end storage options will see a significantly larger price jump compared to the Galaxy S26 devices. For example, the Galaxy S26 Ultra launched at $1,299 for 256GB of storage, while the 512GB version cost $1,499. The S27 Ultra’s base model could start at $1,399, and the 512GB variant could cost $1,549 or even more, with the price increasing for each additional storage option.
Given all this, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra with 1TB could very well break the $2,000 mark (the S26 Ultra launched in this price range at $1,799). Of course, the usual caveats apply. First, this is an unconfirmed rumor. Second, it refers specifically to the South Korean market. While this doesn’t automatically mean that the same considerations don’t apply elsewhere, it’s still something to keep in mind.
The reason for this is, of course, the ongoing chip shortage, triggered by the high demand for AI solutions. It is expected that the top-of-the-line S27, or at least the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, will also be equipped with LPDDR6 RAM, which is even more expensive than LPDDR5X.
