Just one day after leaked images of Samsung’s first clip-on headphones surfaced online, the company officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Buds On in South Korea. The earbuds feature a clip design that, according to the manufacturer, should remain comfortable even during extended wear, such as during outdoor activities like running.

Thanks to their open design, users remain aware of their surroundings at all times. The earbuds support touch controls for music playback and calls; the sensors are located on the back of the earbuds.

According to Samsung, they are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 chipset and a Class-D amplifier, which together enable continuous use of up to 9.5 hours on a single charge.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds On feature three microphones and a bone conduction-based vibration sensor that detects when the user is speaking, thus helping to reduce background noise during calls.

When paired with a Galaxy smartphone or Galaxy tablet with Galaxy AI, users can activate the voice assistant and perform various actions. The headphones are also compatible with Gemini Live.

The earbuds also support head gestures, allowing users to answer or end calls, check notifications, turn off alarms, and perform other actions via gestures.

The Galaxy Buds cost 299,999 KRW (196 euros/220 US dollars) and will be available in South Korea from October 27th. According to Samsung, the earbuds will also be gradually introduced in other regions.
