Huawei Mate 90 RS with a new design and 2 TB of storage is here
The brand-new Mate 90 Pro Max is already an impressive smartphone in its own right, but Huawei offers an even more exclusive version with the Huawei Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design. It’s a tribute to previous Ultimate Design models from Huawei and boasts a more premium design than the Mate 90 Pro Max, without compromising on key hardware specifications.
The Huawei Mate 90 RS boasts a supercar-inspired back cover, available in Crimson, Pure White, and Jet Black. It features an octagonal camera module with a raised central section that extends from the edge of the module to the lower half of the device.
The camera setup is the same as that of the Mate 90 Pro Max: a 50 MP main camera (1/1.28 inch) with RYYB sensor and variable aperture from f/1.4 to 4.0, a 200 MP periscope lens (1/1.28 inch) with 4x optical zoom and a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
Huawei Mate 90 RS supports Ruiying Z10 extender
The Huawei phone also offers native support for Huawei’s Ruiying Z10 external camera module, featuring a dedicated 1-inch RYYB sensor with 50 MP resolution and a 24–240 mm focal length range. This makes it identical to the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition, the only other device in the Mate 90 series to support the external camera. The Z10 module is sold separately for 5,999 CNY (approximately US$895).
The Huawei Mate 90 RS and Pro Max feature identical hardware, including the Kirin 9500 Pro chip, a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED tandem display, and a 6,800 mAh battery. However, the RS variant offers up to 2 TB of storage, while the Pro Max offers a maximum of 1 TB. The RS is also IP69 dustproof and waterproof and supports satellite connectivity.
The Huawei Mate 90 RS is available in three variants: a version with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage for 12,999 CNY (1,725 euros/1,939 US dollars), a version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage for 14,999 CNY (1,990 euros/2,237 US dollars), and a top-of-the-line model with 16 GB RAM and 2 TB storage for 18,999 CNY (2,520 euros/2,834 US dollars). Shipping from China starts on November 11th.
