Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) and new Fire TV remote unveiled

Amazon has just unveiled a slimmer and faster Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) and a new Fire TV remote. According to Amazon, the stick is 20–40% faster than comparable 4K sticks from other manufacturers. It’s priced at $60, but you can get it for half price – see below.

The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) is equipped with a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor and 8 GB of internal storage. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and LE. It can decode videos in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second using the H.264, H.265, VP9, and AV1 codecs. It also supports various HDR formats: HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. However, Dolby Vision is not supported—those needing this feature will have to opt for the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The Max also features Wi-Fi 6E.

Here’s another reason why you might choose the Max: It still runs on the Android-based Fire OS. The new Stick 4K, on the other hand, uses the new Vega OS. Amazon states that app support has been improved and that over 2,000 apps were added last year.

This includes major streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, Prime Video, and HBO Max, but also less common ones like Peacock, Tubi, and Pluto. You can even scroll through Instagram on your TV, taking a break from scrolling on your smartphone.
Vega OS also supports local video players like VLC, music streaming apps like Spotify, and gaming services like Xbox. It can even be connected to VPNs for certain purposes, which Amazon doesn’t specify.
The video above shows a demo of how fast the new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) is compared to similar 4K sticks and the native app functions of smart TVs.
The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) adopts the slimmer design of the Fire TV Stick HD from earlier this year. It can be powered directly via the TV by connecting the cable to one of the USB ports (Amazon calls this Direct Power). This eliminates the need to search for a free power outlet behind the TV for a power adapter.

The company also unveiled the new Amazon Fire TV remote, which is included with the new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026). It is also available separately for $15 and works with all Fire TV streaming devices from 2019 onwards, as well as all Amazon Ember TVs.

The remote control has a flat top and a weighted, rounded bottom for improved handling. The Home button now has a clearly identifiable metal surface, making it easier to locate by touch.
Amazon has also included a premium feature on this remote – the star button, which you can assign to your favorite app. Alternatively, you can use it to activate a frequently used function, such as subtitles or the screen magnifier.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (2026) is available now on Amazon in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, and Australia. It will be launched in other countries next month. As mentioned, it normally costs $60, but is available for $30 during the Prime Big Deal Days.
The new Amazon Fire TV remote will be available on Amazon.com for $15 starting at the end of October. Amazon also plans to release a Fire TV Remote Plus next year, featuring a premium aluminum casing and backlit buttons.
