Beats today unveiled a new wireless over-ear headphone: the Beats 360. This new headphone is specifically designed for people who prefer over-ear headphones at the gym and features adjustability and durability, as well as features inherited from other Beats/Apple audio products.

The Beats 360 headphones are made from exceptionally durable materials and designed for superior comfort. For the first time in Beats headphones, they are water-resistant to IPX4 standards. The ear cushions come standard in robust performance knit fabric with foam padding, but can be optionally replaced with soft leather.

The Beats headphones are available in four colors: Black, Cloud, Pink, and Sky. The Performance Knit ear pads are available in Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky, Navy, and Volt. The UltraPlus ear pads are available in Black and Cloud. The replacement kit includes both the ear pads and the headband, allowing users to mix and match colors and replace the ear pads as needed.

The Beats 360 headphones feature a new, specially designed amplifier with high dynamic range and custom-designed dynamic drivers with two magnets. Thanks to the two neodymium ring magnets, the new drivers achieve 12 dB higher output power than the drivers in the Beats Studio. Furthermore, the new drivers are characterized by improved damping and increased rigidity.

The Beats 360 don’t use Apple’s H1 or H2 chip, but rather a chip developed by Beats. Like the AirPods Max 2, all the electronics in the Beats 360 – including the chip, battery, antenna, etc. – are housed within the two earcups. This minimizes cables and signals traveling through the headband.

Beats 360 with Spatial Audio and Head Tracking, One-Touch Pairing and Siri Hands-Free Function

Despite lacking an Apple chip, many of the features of other Beats and Apple headphones are included, such as Spatial Audio with head tracking, one-touch pairing, Siri hands-free calling, audio sharing, iCloud pairing, automatic switching between Apple devices, and Find My support. Like other Beats products, the Beats 360 also work seamlessly with Android devices. Features like Fast Pair, Find Hub, Google account pairing, Audio Switch, and more are available through the Beats Android app.

The Beats 360 headphones feature active noise cancellation. According to Beats, they block 1.75 times more ambient noise than the Beats Studio Pro, making them Beats’ best noise-canceling headphones. They automatically adjust to ambient noise and the fit of the headphones using nine MEMS microphones in the earbuds and a custom-designed chip in each earcup.

The new transparency mode sounds more natural than before. The headphones also support Adaptive EQ, which adjusts the sound to the individual shape of the ear and head, ensuring a consistent listening experience for different users and volume levels. This feature is also available when ANC and transparency mode are deactivated.

According to the manufacturer, the battery life is 32 hours, with and without ANC. Unlike the Beats Studio Pro and the AirPods Max 2, the Beats 360 do not have a wired audio function.

The Beats 360 cost €350/US$350. The Cushion Kits normally cost €60/US$50, but are currently available at an introductory price of US$10. They are available at apple.com, in Apple Stores, and later at other retailers.
