Google’s new, high-end notebook series, the Googlebook, will be available for pre-order starting September 21st. However, since we haven’t yet received an official statement from Google’s hardware partners, new renderings of the Asus Googlebook published today by The Mac Observer give us a very good idea of what we can expect in a few days.

The Asus Googlebook features a very familiar form factor, but includes a distinctive “G” key and an RGB light strip on the lid. And it appears that these two design features will be found on all Googlebooks.

The images also suggest a large touchpad and a comfortable keyboard, but above all, a good selection of connectivity options. The side view shows at least two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack.

According to the renderings, this particular notebook will use an active cooling system, which is rather unexpected. Various configurations with and without active cooling could be released, but this one appears to be specifically designed for more demanding applications.

We’ll get more information on pricing and availability on September 21st, so stay tuned. The first Lenovo models also leaked last month.
