After teasing the redesigned camera module of the iQOO 16 earlier this week, iQOO has now released more detailed images of the entire back design. The smartphone will be unveiled at the end of the month, along with the iQOO Pad Ultra.

The iQOO 16’s square rear camera module features a raised bezel that surrounds the triple camera in a unique layout. The LED flash is located in the upper right corner outside the module, while the inscription “100x Tele” is printed inside the camera unit.

The raised edge appears to offer additional protection for the camera lenses, which is a nice touch. The back of the “Light Chaser” variant shown here features a distinctive hexagonal pattern. The smartphone also seems to have a flat aluminum frame with rounded corners. iQOO has also released a short video of the smartphone showcasing the new design.

So far, the company has not confirmed any specifications for the iQOO 16. However, recent leaks suggest that the smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme chipset and will feature a flat 6.85-inch display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution. It is also expected to have an 8,400 mAh battery.

iQOO 16, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo with Samsung M16 OLED

Samsung Display today unveiled its latest and brightest LTPO OLED panel for smartphones, which will soon be used in the iQOO 16. It utilizes Samsung’s luminescent M16 material, which is also used in the iPhone 18 Pro series and the iPhone Duo.

The display, which premieres in the iQOO 16, is said by the manufacturer to achieve an industry-leading local peak brightness of 10,000 nits. This is the maximum brightness the panel can achieve briefly (for seconds to a few minutes) in a small, defined area of the screen. The global peak brightness, achieved across the entire display, is 2,800 nits.

The LEAD 2.0 display offers several improvements over its predecessors, including higher color accuracy and better energy efficiency. Samsung announced that it consumes up to 30% less power than the M14 panels and also produces less flicker thanks to 3,300 Hz pulse-width modulation (PWM).

The panel offers a WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), a variable refresh rate of 1–165 Hz, and a 5,000 Hz touch sampling rate. It also features Samsung’s anti-reflective coating and a polarizer-free design (on-cell film), where the RGB color filters are integrated directly onto the OLED material. Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra models are also expected to be equipped with M16 OLED displays.
