Samsung introduced the Privacy Display feature earlier this year with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. In June, it was reported that the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, the new model for the following year, would also feature a Privacy Display. However, in July, it was reported that all smartphones in the Galaxy S27 series, except for the S27 FE, would be equipped with the new feature.

A new report from the South Korean magazine ETNews now states that only two smartphones in the Galaxy S27 series will be equipped with Privacy Display.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra

The two smartphones in question are the Galaxy S27 Pro and the Galaxy S27 Ultra. According to the report, Samsung intends to differentiate its two flagship models for next year from the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ with this move, thereby boosting consumer demand. In addition to the Privacy Display, the displays of the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will also be equipped with Color Filter-on-Encapsulation (COE) technology.

The report also states that future Samsung laptops may be equipped with a privacy display, as the Korean company is discussing plans to integrate this technology into more products.

Aside from the display, Samsung has another exciting in-house developed component: its next flagship chipset, the Exynos 2700. After the Koreans were anything but satisfied with the last generations and refrained from using them in their top Galaxy phones, the first Samsung Galaxy S27 tests with the new chips look very promising.
