Honor has announced the release date for its new flagship Magic9 series. The company also revealed the smartphones’ design and teased some of their key camera features. The Honor Magic9 series will launch in China on September 28th, the company confirmed in a Weibo post. Pre-orders for the new models are already available.

The product launch teasers also confirm that the Honor Magic9 will feature a dual 200MP rear camera. This consists of a 200MP main sensor (1/1.28 inch) with an f/1.57 aperture and a second 200MP telephoto lens (1/1.4 inch) with an f/2.6 aperture. The device will also support a new 500mm teleconverter kit as well as the existing 200mm teleconverter.

The Honor Magic9 series features a large, rectangular camera module on the back with three cutouts. The largest cutout on the left houses the telephoto camera, the LED flash, and the ARRI logo, while the two other cameras are arranged in separate circular cutouts next to it.

Honor Magic9 series with square selfie sensor

The Honor phone is available in a new moss green color. It features a pill-shaped cutout for the front-facing selfie camera and a 3D ToF sensor. Rumors suggest that the Magic9 Pro/Pro Max are the first Android smartphones with a square selfie sensor.

Honor has also confirmed that it will unveil its new Android interface MagicOS 11 next week, which is already based on Android 17.

Honor has not yet announced how many models will be released as part of its new flagship series. According to a recent leak, there could be a Pro and a Pro Max model in addition to the Magic9.
