Xiaomi 18 Fold with Xring O3 chipset and widescreen format is here
Xiaomi today unveiled its first foldable widescreen smartphone, beating Apple by exactly two days. The Xiaomi 18 Fold not only shares the same form factor as the highly anticipated iPhone Ultra (or the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8), but is also available in cherry red – similar to the color that was rumored for Apple’s device.
However, this is where the similarities end. The Xiaomi 18 Fold is powered by Xiaomi’s impressive, in-house developed Xring O3 chipset and features 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of internal storage. The RAM is LPDDR6 in the 16 GB version, otherwise LPDDR5X.
The foldable display measures 7.58 inches diagonally and offers a resolution of 2364 x 1672 pixels, while the external display is 5.38 inches and has a resolution of 1168 x 1712 pixels. Both offer a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 2:1 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of up to 4000 nits. The external display is protected by Xiaomi’s Shield Glass 3.0.
Xiaomi 18 Fold with 200 MP main camera
The Xiaomi phone’s main camera has a 200 MP resolution and uses Samsung’s ISOCELL HP5 1/1.56″ sensor. It also features a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with an 80 mm focal length for 3.5x optical zoom and a 160 mm 7x lossless in-sensor zoom, as well as a 50 MP ultrawide camera on the back and a 16 MP selfie camera on each display.
The necessary power is provided by a 6,000 mAh battery with 20% silicon content, which can be charged via cable at up to 67 watts and wirelessly at up to 50 watts. The Xiaomi 18 Fold runs HyperOS 4 based on Android 17. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is available in black, red, “Warm Gold,” and as a special ceramic edition. When folded, it measures 117.8 x 83.6 x 10.68 mm; when unfolded, it measures 117.8 x 163.8 x 5.02 mm. It weighs 219 g.
The version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs 10,999 CNY (1,411 euros/1,638 US dollars), the version with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage 11,999 CNY (1,539 euros/1,787 US dollars), the variant with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage 12,999 CNY (1,668 euros/1,936 US dollars), the version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage 14,999 CNY (1,924 euros/2,234 US dollars), and the ceramic special edition (only available with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage) 15,999 CNY (2,053 euros/2,383 US dollars). Unfortunately, Xiaomi does not plan to sell the 18 Fold outside of China.
