The Honor Play20A is a unique model in the company’s range, as the smartphone has a second display in the camera module on the back – a feature that no other non-foldable Honor smartphone offers.

You can take selfies with the main camera, which has a 13-megapixel sensor. And contrary to first impressions, it’s the only camera on the back. The 13-megapixel camera undoubtedly delivers better images than the 5-megapixel front camera, although the bar for the front camera isn’t particularly high to begin with.

The rear display also shows the time, as the Honor Play20A does not have an always-on display, as well as the music player’s “currently playing” information and the caller’s name for incoming calls.

Turning the Honor Play20A over, the first thing you notice is the huge 6.9-inch LCD display (90 Hz). It’s larger than on most other smartphones. Otherwise, the asymmetrical edges and the notch for the camera are typical for entry-level devices. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the side of the device.

The Play20A is a 4G smartphone with a Helio G81 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and 64/128 GB of internal storage. Pleasingly, the card slot accommodates three cards – two SIM cards and one microSD card (up to 1 TB).

This smartphone has another ace up its sleeve – it’s equipped with a large 6,000 mAh battery. That’s pretty good for an entry-level device, even if the 15-watt charging is rather slow.

What’s still missing is the price. So far, the Play20A has only appeared on the global Honor.com website and on Honor Qatar, but without any prices listed.
