Sony Xperia 10 VIII appears in first marketing image

Sony recently announced a launch event for August 25th at 11:00 AM Japan time. This event is expected to be the unveiling of a new Xperia product, though the Japanese company did not provide a specific name. It is anticipated to be the Sony Xperia 10 VIII, which was recently spotted on Geekbench and is now also visible in an official-looking image from Android Headlines.

The image in the upper left shows the design of the Sony Xperia 10 VIII. This design is almost identical to its predecessor, the Xperia 10 VII. It features a dual rear camera housed in a horizontal camera module with the Sony logo. The NFC logo is located below the camera module.
Sony Xperia 10 VIII with camera button?
On the right side of the Sony Xperia 10 VIII are the volume controls and the power button, which also serves as a fingerprint scanner. The Xperia 10 VII also had a dedicated camera button located to the right and below the power button. This button is not visible in the image of the successor, however, as the woman’s hand is obscuring it. We will have to wait for further images to find out whether Sony has retained or omitted the dedicated camera button.
This image of the Sony Xperia 10 VIII alone doesn’t reveal much; however, thanks to Geekbench, we know it runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and boots Android 16. It’s the same chip used in the previous model. The Xperia phone that performed the Geekbench test had 8 GB of RAM. Whether there will be other RAM options remains to be seen, as the Xperia 10 VII was only available in a configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
