Fairphone 6+ is here and available in the USA for the first time

Fairphone today unveiled its latest smartphone, the Fairphone 6+. With 12GB of RAM, it boasts 50% more memory than the Fairphone 6‘s 8GB and is equipped with the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. It’s available in the new color Cobalt Blue, as well as Horizon Black and Forest Green. However, those are the only changes to the new model.

Furthermore, the smartphone is now officially available in the USA for the first time – both in the Fairphone online shop and on Amazon – without the restriction that it doesn’t run on Android. The price is $649 or €649 in Europe.

It features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1116 x 2484 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony’s Lytia 700C sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4415 mAh battery with support for 30-watt fast charging.
The smartphone runs on Android 16 and is slated to receive six major Android updates, as well as six security updates. Its key feature, like its predecessor, is its twelve user-replaceable parts. The USB-C port, battery, display, and back cover can be swapped in under five minutes. Microphones, side buttons, and fingerprint scanners can be repaired at authorized repair centers, and replacement parts are expected to be available until 2033. The device also comes with a five-year warranty.
