Xiaomi 18 Ultra discontinued, vivo X500 Ultra and Oppo Find X10 Ultra stay at home

The Xiaomi 18 Ultra, which was expected to be released in December of this year, has reportedly been cancelled. According to a new leak, Xiaomi will only launch three smartphones as part of its upcoming 18 series.
Xiaomi 18 Ultra

In a post on X, leaker Karticey Singh claims that Xiaomi will not release a Xiaomi 18 Ultra this year. According to Singh, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will instead be the flagship of the company’s upcoming smartphone series.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Xiaomi has completely abandoned the Ultra model. A successor to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could very well appear next year. The company might forgo the Xiaomi 18 Ultra this year due to rising storage and memory costs; it will already be by far the most expensive model in the company’s portfolio.
This could also be the reason why, according to the latest rumor, Xiaomi is considering using its own Xring O3 chipset in the Ultra. The only alternative is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, which, after its official launch next month, will be among the most expensive processors on the market.
vivo X500 Ultra and Oppo Find X10 Ultra
The informant also claims that vivo and Oppo will offer their upcoming Ultra smartphones exclusively in China.

While the vivo X300 Ultra and the Oppo Find X9 Ultra were launched worldwide, their successors, the vivo X500 Ultra and the Oppo Find X10 Ultra, may not be available worldwide if the rumor proves true.
Traditionally, vivo limited its Ultra models to the Chinese market, but that changed with the vivo X300 Ultra, which was launched in several global markets. We sincerely hope that vivo isn’t planning any regressions in this direction. However, the starting price was a hefty €1,999. It shouldn’t surprise anyone at vivo’s top management that this didn’t set any sales records.
