Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL with Tensor G6 and HiLight LED are here

Notification LEDs have fallen out of fashion and been replaced by always-on displays. But can this classic feature make a comeback thanks to AI? Google wants to find out. We’re talking about Google’s new HiLight feature, located next to the rear camera lenses of the new Google Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL. It activates when you place the smartphone face down – it notifies you of incoming calls from favorite contacts and also lights up when you’re on a call with Gemini.

Speaking of Gemini: Google is launching a more powerful version for smartphones (and soon for smartwatches) called Gemini Intelligence. It benefits from the increased computing power of the new Tensor G6 – the first smartphone chipset from TSMC’s 2nm process and the second since the split with Samsung.

Ironically, it was AI that led to a downgrade – last year, Pixel Pro models had 16GB of RAM regardless of storage capacity. This year, they start with 12GB of RAM for the base 256GB configuration and go up to 16GB for the 512GB and 1TB variants. Oh, and the smaller Pixel Pro now starts with 256GB (which is good, since the 128GB Pixel 10 Pro used the slower UFS 3.1 storage). The G6 is cooled by a vapor chamber and features a Titan M3 security chip for post-quantum encryption.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display (120 Hz), placing it in the same league as the iPhone 17 Pro and the Galaxy S26. Its battery has a capacity of 4,850 mAh, as Google continues to avoid particularly high capacity values. Like its predecessor, it supports 30W wired charging and wireless charging via the magnetic Pixel Snap connector.
Google Pixel 11 Pro XL
The larger Google Pixel 11 Pro XL features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display (120 Hz), but its significantly larger size comes with only a slightly higher battery capacity of 5,115 mAh. While this is a decrease compared to last year’s Pro XL with its 5,200 mAh battery, it’s still slightly more than the Galaxy S26 Ultra‘s 5,000 mAh battery.

Google is leveraging the higher energy efficiency of the Tensor G6 chipset to enable longer battery life – a weakness of the 10 Pro models. The Pro XL also supports faster 45-watt wired charging.

Even though the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro are virtually indistinguishable externally, the Pro model boasts significantly better cameras – which it shares with its sibling, the Pro XL. These include a 50MP main camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x zoom (1/1.95-inch sensor, f/2.8 aperture with OIS), and a 48MP ultrawide camera with autofocus (1/2.51-inch sensor, f/1.7 aperture). The selfie camera combines a 42MP sensor with a 103° lens (f/2.2) and autofocus.
Prices
The two Pro models offer a different color palette than the standard Pixel 11 – they are available in Canyon, Olive, Fog, and Obsidian. The foldable model is available in Obsidian and Olive.
