Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max announced with large batteries

As expected, Xiaomi today unveiled its latest Redmi K-series smartphones in China, boasting impressive specifications. Although they look similar, they also have some important differences.
Redmi K100 Pro

The Redmi K100 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm’s recently introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series (SM8850-1-AB) chip, a selected version of the regular SD Elite Gen 5. The biggest change concerns the GPU: the Adreno 840 GPU has two cores clocked at 1.2 GHz instead of three cores at 1.3 GHz.
Redmi K100 Pro Max
The K100 Pro Max is equipped with the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and both smartphones feature up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The other differences between the two models concern the display, camera, and battery capacity.

The K100 Pro features a 6.56-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2,510 x 1,156 pixels) and a 185Hz refresh rate. The K100 Pro Max boasts a larger 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,608 x 1,200 pixels and also a 185Hz refresh rate.

Both smartphones feature a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor. However, the Pro Max boasts a more powerful 50MP periscope telephoto lens (ISOCELL JN5) with 5x optical zoom, compared to the K100 Pro’s 2.5x telephoto lens. Additionally, the Max includes a 50MP ultrawide lens (OV50M), while the regular Pro has an 8MP ultrawide lens. The new Redmi phones also feature a Bose-tuned subwoofer on the back.

The Redmi K100 Pro features an 8,580 mAh Si-C battery, while the Pro Max version is equipped with a slightly larger 9,070 mAh Si-C battery. Both smartphones support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W reverse wire-charging. Both devices are also IP66/68/69 water-resistant.

If we take last year’s transition of the Redmi K90 Pro and K90 Pro Max to the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra on an international level as an indication, we could see the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max as the Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra this year.
