Motorola Moto Pad 70 with a 12.1-inch display, 5G and a 10,200 mAh battery is here

Motorola introduced the Moto Pad 70 Pro in June, followed last week by the Moto Pad 70 Groove. Today, the Lenovo-owned company presented the Motorola Moto Pad 70 as the third member of the series.

According to marketing materials, the Motorola Moto Pad 70 is a “premium tablet that offers users the perfect balance of mobility, productivity, creativity, and entertainment.” Furthermore, the company promotes the tablet as the “thinnest and lightest 5G tablet,” as it is only 6.49 mm thick (the Wi-Fi model measures 6.29 mm), weighs 530 g, and features 5G connectivity.

The Motorola Moto Pad 70 features a 12.1-inch 90Hz LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a brightness of 800 nits, and stylus support. Inside, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.

On the software side, the Moto Pad ships with the outdated Android 16. An upgrade to Android 17 is planned, but we consider this a poor approach by Motorola, as Android 17 is already available and the Moto Pad 70 should have run it from the start. Regarding security updates, Motorola promises to provide updates for three years.
Motorola Moto Pad 70 with various AI functions
The Motorola Moto Pad 70 also offers AI features like “Rewrite,” “Summary,” and “Resume Writing,” which optimize the use of the Moto Pen. And if you ever feel like taking photos with the tablet (we don’t judge you!), it has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera.
The necessary energy is provided by a 10,200 mAh battery with 45 watt charging support, although the tablet comes with a 68 watt power adapter.
Other highlights include IP52 certification, four Dolby Atmos-optimized speakers, a USB-C port, two microphones, voice call support, and keyboard support. It also features a separate microSD card slot.
Prices
The Motorola Moto Pad 70, with its elegant metal casing, is available in the Pantone color Sea Angel and offers two storage options: 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB. However, Motorola only confirmed the launch price of the 256 GB model in the press release, which is 33,999 INR (310 euros/357 USD) in India. The Moto Pen is included, while the Moto Folio keyboard is sold separately.
The Moto Pad 70 with 256GB of storage will be available in India from August 15th via Motorola’s Indian website, Flipkart, and leading retailers nationwide. It is expected to launch globally later under a rebranded Lenovo tablet.
