The Redmi 17C 4G was already unveiled in June, and now the Redmi 17C 5G has surfaced in a Luxembourg listing. The 5G version features a 6.9-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 810 nits.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and features 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64/128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The main rear camera has a 50 MP (f/1.8) resolution, while the front camera has 8 MP. The battery has a capacity of 6,000 mAh and supports 33W fast charging.

Redmi 17C 5G with HyperOS 3

The Redmi smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, runs HyperOS 3, and is IP64 dust and water resistant. It will be available in black, purple, and brown.

However, there’s a catch. Apparently, the Redmi 17C 5G is simply a Redmi 15C 5G rebranded, with new colors and a slightly modified camera unit design; the shape and size remain the same. It also comes with a newer version of HyperOS.
