Google Pixel Watch 5: Next major leak reveals various features

Another leak about the Google Pixel Watch 5. This time the focus is more on the watch’s features than its appearance – those who want to take a look can check out the leaked official renderings, which show the watch in four colors.

The Google Pixel Watch 5 is available in four colors: matte black, polished silver, satin pyrite, and champagne gold. As usual, the watch comes in two sizes, 41 mm and 45 mm. For unknown reasons, the 45 mm version is not available in champagne gold. There will also be a variety of interchangeable watch bands.

Now let’s look at the functions. The first two screenshots show the blood oxygen measurement (SpO2) and the atrial fibrillation detection. The next two screenshots show the sleep monitoring function.

Next up: outdoor training – the Google Pixel Watch 5 will be available in Wi-Fi and LTE+Wi-Fi versions. Both feature built-in GPS to track your runs; with the LTE+Wi-Fi version, you can leave your smartphone at home. A virtual coach will be on hand to help you maintain your pace while running.

The watch collects data and provides insights – do you sleep better when you reach your step goal? Have your heart rate values improved? Gemini will answer all these questions as part of Wear OS 7. Gemini Intelligence is expected to be introduced with the Watch 5 (and should also be available as an update for older models).

Google will unveil the Pixel 11 smartphones and the Pixel Watch 5 on August 12th and accept pre-orders until around August 20th (the exact sales launch is still unclear). Prices for the US, UK, and Europe have already leaked. In short: Expect price increases of around $50 or €20, depending on the configuration.

Here’s a brief summary of the Google Pixel Watch 5: It’s powered by the same Snapdragon Wear W5 Gen 2 chipset as the Pixel Watch 4 and features the same displays (again available in 41mm and 45mm).
There will be variants with Wi-Fi and LTE + Wi-Fi. The storage has been doubled to 64 GB, and the batteries are slightly larger (332 mAh instead of 325 mAh for the 41 mm version and 465 mAh instead of 455 mAh for the 45 mm version).
