Google Pixel Watch 5 appears in official Google app
Google will unveil its Pixel 11 series smartphones on August 12th and is also expected to present its latest smartwatch. So far, the company hasn’t officially confirmed the Google Pixel Watch 5. However, the watch has now appeared in an official Google app, which is further evidence that it will also be part of the August 12th event.
The app in question is the Google Health app, where the Google Pixel Watch 5 is listed as one of the wearables that can be connected to your smartphone. It’s at the very top of the list. After selecting it, a separate settings page opens, followed by a screen with connection options.
The screenshots of the Google Health app below reveal nothing new, as even the placeholder image Google uses for the Pixel Watch 5 is identical to that of the Pixel Watch 4. However, we’re not claiming the two smartwatches look completely different, as the latest leaked renderings show hardly any differences between the two models.
Google Pixel Watch 5 with the same base chip but more RAM
Furthermore, an entry in the Google Play Console revealed that the Pixel Watch 5, codenamed “godric”, uses the same base chip as the Pixel Watch 2, Watch 3 and 4, but has more RAM (3 GB versus 2 GB).
Rumors suggest that the Google Pixel Watch 5 will cost €419 for the 41mm Wi-Fi version and €519 for the LTE version. The 45mm versions with Wi-Fi and LTE are expected to cost €449 and €549, respectively.
