The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to launch in China in September. However, according to a new report, the series will not include an Ultra variant and will instead consist of three models. The report also suggests that the series could be available in India earlier than usual. Furthermore, the Redmi Note 17 series is also expected to launch in India.

Xiaomi 18 series is expected to launch early in India

According to the report, Xiaomi’s next flagship series will include the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max models. Xiaomi is said to have discontinued development of the Ultra variant; the 18 Pro Max is expected to serve as the company’s flagship model this year.

The report also suggests that the Xiaomi 18 series will launch in India in December, around three months earlier than usual. However, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to be available in limited quantities.

Redmi Note 17 release date for India announced

Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi unveiled two smartphones in its Note 17 series in China last week – the Redmi Note 17 and the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The company is also working on launching the product line in international markets, including India, where it is expected to debut next month. According to a source, the Redmi Note 17 will be released in India on August 6th, with sales starting on August 11th.

According to a tipster, the Indian Redmi Note 17 will feature an OLED display, a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, and an 8,000 mAh battery. The battery and camera specifications are identical to those of the Chinese Redmi Note 17. However, it remains unclear whether the Indian version’s OLED display will also be 7 inches, have a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a resolution of 2,396 x 1,080 pixels.

Redmi Note 17 Pro

The remaining specifications of the Chinese Redmi Note 17 include the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi smartphone also supports wired charging at 45 watts and reverse wired charging at 22.5 watts.
