A well-known leaker has published some alleged technical specifications for the upcoming Google Pixel 11a, and if these are accurate, it could be the best “a” device in years. There’s at least one big surprise that we honestly didn’t expect – the chipset.

When Google unveiled the Pixel 10a in March 2026, the chipset was one of the biggest points of criticism for many potential buyers. Google decided to stick with the previous year’s Tensor G4 chipset, which, among other things, contributed to the 10a offering little advantage over the Pixel 9a. If the new rumors prove true, the Google Pixel 11a could indeed be equipped with the latest and most powerful Tensor G6 chipset.

Google Pixel 11a could get first 2nm chipset

Thanks to some leaks about the Pixel 11, we already know quite a bit about this chip, and it makes a pretty impressive impression. So much so, in fact, that it could turn out to be the first official 2nm chip on the market. Specifically, it will be featured in the main model of the Pixel 11 family, which will be unveiled on August 12th. According to all reports, the Google Pixel 11a is still several months away. We can probably expect a release in March 2027.

Mystic Leaks has also published some further rumored technical specifications for the Google Pixel 11a. The device apparently bears the internal codename “Formosan.” It is expected to feature a 6.3-inch 1080p display with a maximum brightness of 2,250 nits and a peak brightness of 3,350 nits, as well as official HDR support. It is also expected to have 8 GB of RAM and a rumored minimum battery capacity of 4,870 mAh.

This wording might be somewhat misleading, but most batteries do indeed have a minimum capacity, which is rarely stated in advertising. Therefore, it’s likely that the Google Pixel 11a will either retain the same typical battery capacity of 5,100 mAh as the Pixel 10a, or, in the worst-case scenario, reduce the capacity to, for example, 5,000 mAh.

As previously mentioned, the Pixel 11a could be equipped with the Tensor G6 chipset, but a slightly scaled-down version is more likely. Presumably, this would be a lower-performance model. While this would slightly impact raw performance, other components, such as the rumored new MediaTek M90 modem, would remain. Rumors also suggest that the upcoming Pixel phone will use the same Titan M3 security chip as the other Pixel 11 models.

Another leaker points to a new front camera for the Pixel 11a. Unfortunately, we don’t have any further details yet, apart from the alleged codename “dokkaebi”. Possible color options mentioned include black, green, purple, and silver, and there’s already some good and bad news regarding pricing.
