Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 with HyperOS 4 spotted in the wild
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 could be released very soon, as many rumors point to an August 2026 release. The device is already certified in China, apparently even before all other devices in the Xiaomi 18 series, which is a good sign for a possible early release.
Unlike the Xiaomi 18 series, the Mix Fold 5 does not have to wait for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite Gen 6 chipset, as virtually all sources assume that it will be equipped with the in-house Xring O3 chipset – the significantly improved successor to last year’s O1.

Two live images of a foldable device have surfaced, most likely the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. While the photos don’t reveal much, the device appears to be operating under the codename “lhasa”—the already known codename for the Mix Fold 5. It’s also clearly visible that the smartphone is running an operating system version starting with 4.0, based on Android 17.
This aligns with Xiaomi’s long-standing practice of releasing a major HyperOS update alongside a major Android version upgrade. The visible images resemble the current HyperOS design, with only minor changes hinting at the glass-infused design language introduced across the ecosystem by Android 17.
Regarding further specifications, current sources speculate that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 will feature a 7.5 to 7.6-inch flexible display with seamless folding technology. In addition to the in-house chipset, we also expect a 200 MP main camera, full water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 6,000 mAh battery with wireless charging.
Unfortunately, a price is already circulating that’s somewhere in the range of 10,000 CNY, which is roughly equivalent to 1,291 euros/1,400 US dollars. However, that would only be the price for the domestic Chinese market – so far, no Mix Fold model has been available internationally.
