Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could retain the old design

Back in April, a rumor circulated from Korea that Samsung would redesign the back not only of the Galaxy S27 Ultra but of the entire Galaxy S27 series, with the camera unit being moved in order to finally be able to incorporate magnets for wireless charging into its flagship smartphones.

A few days later, the speculative renderings shown above surfaced, allegedly depicting the design of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra. According to these renderings, the Ultra, like the rest of the series, was expected to be equipped with only three cameras. However, a new rumor from Korea claims that Samsung has not yet made a decision.
According to the new source, all circulating rumors are false. The company is apparently considering several options, but none of them feature such a simple horizontal layout. Therefore, more complex horizontal designs may exist.
Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra could look like the S26 Ultra

The most intriguing aspect of this rumor is the claim that Samsung might completely abandon the idea and retain the existing design with the vertical camera array, apart from removing one camera. According to this theory, the Galaxy S27 Ultra could look more like the Galaxy S26 and S26+ than the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Since the development of these smartphones is still in a very early stage, there’s no guarantee that these rumors are true. Therefore, they should be treated with caution. Furthermore, the S27 Pro is expected to be equipped with the Exynos 2700 chipset in almost all versions, and both the Pro and Ultra models are rumored to feature a new selfie camera.
